Teacher's Day Cake



This cake was for Urel's Teacher on Teacher's Day in Thailand.
It was low fat cake, I just use whites egg to made it, I mean that not used yolks egg.

Checkerboard Cake
"Original recipe from Good Housekeeping Favorite Recipes"

Ingredients:
3 1/2 cups cake flour (not self raising),
1 tbsp baking powder,
1 tsp salt,
1 cup butter,
2 cups sugar,
1 1/4 cups milk,
1 tbsp vanilla extract,
8 large egg whites,
8 squares (8 ounces) semisweet chocolate, melted and cooled.

How to make it?
  1. Preheat oven 180 degree Celcius. Grease three round cake pans (here I used lover pan). Line bottoms of cake pans with waxed paper, grease paper. Dust with flour.
  2. In medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In large bowl, with mixer at low speed, beat butter and 1 1/2 cups sugar until blended. Increase speed to high; beat until light and fluffy, about 5 minutes. Reduce speed to low. Add flour mixture, milk, and, vanilla; beat until just combined. Increase speed to medium; beat 2 minutes, occasionally scraping bowl.
  4. In separate large bowl, with mixer at high speed, beat egg whites until soft peaks form when beaters are lifted. Sprinkle in remaining 1/2 cup sugar, 2 tbsp at a time, beating until sugar has dissolved and egg whites stand in stiff, glossy peaks when beaters are liftes. Do not overbeat. Gently fold beaten egg whites, one -third at a time, into flour mixture until blended. Spoon half of batter into medium bowl. Into batter remaining in large bowl, fold in melted chocolate until blended.
  5. Makes a design checker at pan. Baked until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

Chocolate Pudding with Tennis court theme (Good's)

It was my new experience, challenge, and excite made pudding with decoration.
PhotobucketIt was chocolate pudding that I made for Meuy's friend.
Meuy told me via sms in the night before "Hi Chera my friend ask me to order chocolate pudding for his son 'Pound' 13 years old, is it possible to deliver tomorrow before 15.00, let me know na ka thanks".

Ohoo Sure I try to make it. I think I can do it and deliver before 15.00. She tell me more about her friend son. He likes to play tennis, please decorate the pudding with tennis nuance, up to you.

Hmmm it's challenge for me. Because you know that the surface of pudding are very soft and shiny. I have to turn on my head.

Ohooo... Let me do it ...

PhotobucketAfter I think about how to decorate it, I make decision that I will decorate it use fondant. And the surface is tennis court and has name, the number, racket and ball. All about tennis and Pound.
With my hope that Pound will like it.

Special Chocolate Mousse

When my mind is not so good enough,
When my tongue is not have taste,
When the occasion is happen,
When the celebration is happen too,

When ... up to you ...
All of about chocolate
After taste this things, all of mine is better heheheheh ....
Sometimes, not always ...

I said special, because of many things. Special order, special mousse, and special occassion, also special for Mrs. Sheri, my nice friend here.

My husband help me to make the package, I like how was he made the package. He always made the package be very nice and he always considering about the function of every details.

When we sell cookies and cakes in Indonesia, all of the package was made by my husband.

Anyway, that just a story. Now, we will make all of things better than before. About, this mousse I hope Mrs.Shari and friends like it.

There are my steps to arrange special chocolate mousse:

  • Cut cake as shape that you want. Here I choose oval shape. You have to prepare mica before. Put the cake into the box that you will used to serve. (left side)
  • After the cake is ready in the box, pour caramel sauce into the cake (use brush I think is better). (right side)

  • Prepare the topping.
  • Pour as the second layer of chocolate mousse. How much? Oooh it's up to you. As much you like.

  • The third layer is mousse itself. Please pour mousse as much as you like. I like more and more. I am chocoholic. Heheheheh ....
  • After all mousse are ready, please use your creativity to decorate it. Here I make two types, chocolate and white. The white one is use icing sugar and the other one is use chocolate powder (van houtten). About flowers and lace are use fondant. It's very simple, but I like it. I hope its match with the occasion.
  • Finish and then yummmyyyyy....

~Special Chocolate Mousse~

I made it with three layers, the bottom was cake, the second was topping (non-dairy cream with dark cooking chocolate) and the third layer-the top layer was chocolate mousse. You can see what I explain before.
