Gambang Bread







'Roti Gambang' or 'Gambang Bread' is one of traditional bread from Indonesia.
I never taste this bread before, but I wonder to know and to taste this bread.
One of my friends told me that is easy to make this bread.
Hmm, so this weekend I try to made this bread.
Trararara......



It was really easy to made this bread, and Alhamdulillah my daughter like to taste this bread. Maybe because I made with different shapes, usuall shapes, flower shapes, and bear shapes. And of course because the taste of this breads itself. The Java red sugar inside was too taste. We like it ...

I modified this recipe, I use 200 gr of margarine, and I change the dry fine bread crumbs with rye dark flour.

Twins Baby Cake


Yes, it was cake for baby twins. It was the second time that Mr.Win ordered my cake. Thanks a lot for your order Mr.Win.
This cake was for celebrating 1 month old twin babies . Wow, nice baby twins. I made the cake with the similiar nuance but different colors, because the babies are one girl and one boy.


For the girl I made with pink color nuance, and for the boy I made with blue color nuance.
I chose to use fondant to decorate the cake.



I knew that actually Mr.Win doesn't like too much cream at the cake.
I hope it was right decision.

The cakes were two different type of cake. The first one (pink) was a chocolate layer cake, and the second one (blue) was an angel food cake with no glaze inside.



For angel food cake, the recipe was same with the cake that for Holly (angel food cake with strawberry glaze) and for Mrs.Celli (Angel food cake with lemon glaze) but for baby not used glaze. The original recipe was here.




For Chocolate Layer Cake, the recipe is below:

Ingredients:

7 egg yolks,
1 egg,
65 gr sugar,
30 gr cake flour,
15 gr chocolate powder,
15 gr milk powder,
15 gr corn flour,
105 gr butter, melted.




How to make chocolate layer cake?

1. Use an electric mixer, beat eggs with sugar until fluffy, white and have soft peak.
2. In one bowl, pour flour and powders, sift twice.
3. Pour into the batter that we have before (1). Mix slowly used baloon whisk.

4. Por butter that melted before. Mix well together. Pour into greased pan that we prepared before.
5. Baked used 180 degree celcius and the time was about 30 minutes. Please check with a stick, if the stick is clean when we prick it into the cake, so the cake is done already.

Angel Food Cake with Lemon Glaze

I want to order cake for my friends who have birthday at tomorrow. My friend is 80 years old tomorrow. Can I order a cake for tomorrow?

Yes, of course you can. I will make it for you.
What kind of cake do you want?
Hmm let me know, what kind of cake that you have?

I have chocolate cake, cheese cake, angel food cake, brownie, or pudding.

Ok, I think angel food cake is good for us, the old guys hehehehehheeh ...

Ok, I ll make angel food cake for you. How about size? for how many persons?
It just for 4-6 persons. Hmm, maybe small cake is enough. Do you agree, small size? And what the theme? do you want hap birthday letter in the cake or something?
Ok, I want flowers that have pink and white colour.

Really? That's for 80 years old?
(we laugh ...)

So I have to make a cake that have pink and white nuance and flowers.
Let's do that ...

My decision is make angel food cake with lemon glaze (modified from Holly's birthday cake).
And for flowers I will make with fondant.
Hmm just simple cake. I hope Mrs. Celli will like it.

Recipe was still from this site. It's the best angel food cake recipe that I found. It's complete with step by step to make angel food cake with glaze. I just change strawberry with lemon.

About fondant, before I put fondant at my cake, I cover it with non-dairy cream.
And keep in the refrigerator for a while. After thats cold enough, cover the cake with fondant.

After the cake was ready, I deliver to Mr.Celli at riverside condo (same condo with me) at 5.30 in the afternoon. I went with Urel (my lovely daughter).

Hello Chera, .... The cake was such a hit..
First everyone was amazed by
the beauty of the cake, and then by the taste!!!!!
At
dinner there was 4 of us for the cake, then the birthday girl (80 years old) wanted to go to a place where expats play music.
There were about 18 people
there and she wanted to share her cake with everyone.
She did and it went so fast!

So you can see it was a "beautiful and tasteful" cake.

Cheese Cake







It was cheese cake that I made. The taste is so creamy, and rich of cream cheese. Mix with non-dairy cream, grape, and peanut cookies in the bottom of cake was nice and new for me. It was the recipes that I tried.

First, I prepared the bottom of cheese cake.

Ingredients:
125 gr biscuits,
50 gr butter, melted,
Vanilla extract,
Instant coffee,

How to made the bottom of cake?
1. Put all of ingredients at food processor, and mix until smooth.
2. Put in the greased pan, baked not more than 10 minutes, use 180 degree C.
3. Set aside.




Second, I prepared cream cheese batter.

Ingredients:
300 gr cream cheese,
2 eggs,
125 gr sour cream,
100 gr sugar.

How to made this batter?
1. Beat cream cheese at medium speed with electric mixer until smooth. Combine sugar, flour and salt. Add to cheese mixture and beat until blended.
2. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add sour cream, beating just until blended.
3. Pour mixture into prepared pan before that have crust in the bottom.
4. Baked 90 minutes with 180 degree C.
5. Cool to room temperature and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
6. Served with fruits and non-dairy crem.
7. Just said "Yummmyyy, cream cheese with penut butter cookies".

Peanut Butter Cookies






For extra crunch add 50 gr chopped peanuts with the peanut butter.

That's the suggestion to make better.

It was so nutty, and crunchy.


Ingredients:


115 gr plain flour,
1/2 tsp bacarbonat of soda,
pinch of salt,
115 gr butter,
125 gr firmly packed light brown sugar,
1 egg,
1 tsp vanilla essence,
225 gr crunchy peanut butter.

How?


1. Sift together the flour, bicarbonat of soda and salt and set aside.

2. With an electric mixer, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

3. In another bowl, mix the egg and vanilla essence, then gradually beat into the butter mixture.

4. Stir in the peanut butter and blend throughly. Stir in the dry ingredients. Chill for at least 30 minutes, until firm.

5. Preheat oven to 180 degree Celcius.
6. Make shape with dough, as we want.

7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until lightly coloured.
8. Transfer to a wire rack to cool.




Lady Baltimore Cake









When I looking for the cake recipe that use orange juice, I found this recipe.
" Lady Baltimore Cake ", never heard before.
But I want to try.
I don't know whether my cake was right or not, but I think mine was not so bad, heheheh...
It was delicious, the texture like a caramel cake but the taste was orange.
I share with the guard at condominium.
My daughter and my husband love it also.

It was the recipes ;)

Ingredients:



285 gr cake flour,
2,5 tsp baking powder,
1/2 tsp salt,
4 eggs,
350 gr sugar,
250 ml fresh orange juice,
250 ml vegetable oil.


How?

1. Preheat oven to 180 degree Celcius.
Grease the pan and line with greaseproog paper.
In a bow, sift together the flour, BP, and salt. Set aside.
2. With an electric mixer, beat the eggs and sugar until thick and lemon coloured.
Beat in the juice and then the oil.
3. On low speed, beat in the flour mixture in 3 batches.
Divide the cake mixture between the tins.
4. Bake until a skewer inserted in the centre comes out clean, about 30 minutes.
